Huskies to return to College Football Playoff for 1st time in 7 years

SEATTLE — For the first time in seven years, the University of Washington Huskies are back in the College Football Playoff. A perfect 13-0 season will continue with a chance to win a national title.
UW is ranked No. 2 in the final College Football Playoff rankings and will meet No. 3 Texas in the National Semifinals, which is the Sugar Bowl. That game is played in New Orleans on January 1, with a 5:45 p.m. PT kickoff.
If that matchup sounds familiar, that's because it just happened last year. UW beat Texas in the 2022 Alamo Bowl, 27-20. Texas is led by former Huskies Head Coach Steve Sarkisian who has led a resurgence for the Longhorns.
